*1. ఓ అద్భుతమైన బ్రహ్మ కుమారుడా, ఓ తెలివైనవాడా, నువ్వు ఒక అద్భుతమైన కథను చెప్పావు. ఆ తర్వాత యుద్ధంలో ఏం జరిగింది? అసురుడు ఎలా చంపబడ్డాడు? దయచేసి వివరించండి.*
*సనత్కుమారుడు పలికెను : పార్వతిని చూడలేక, దైత్య రాజు యుద్ధ భూమికి తిరిగి వచ్చాడు. మోసపూరిత గంధర్వుల సమూహాలు అంతరించిపోయాయి. అప్పుడే ఎద్దుల సమూహంతో ఉన్న దేవుడికి పరిసరాలపై అవగాహన వచ్చింది. (2). భ్రాంతి తొలగిపోవడం చూసి, శివుడు మేల్కొన్నాడు. ప్రపంచ స్థితిని చూసి, శివుడు చాలా కోపంగా ఉన్నాడు. (3) అప్పుడు శివ మనసులో కాస్త ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగింది. జలంధరుడితో యుద్ధం చేసే క్రమంలో కోపంతో అతడిని సమీపించాడు. మళ్లీ శివుడు రావడం చూసి, అసురుడు అతనిపై బాణాలు కురిపించాడు. (4) శక్తివంతమైన జలంధరుడు ప్రయోగించిన బాణాల సమూహాన్ని శివుడు వెంటనే తన అద్భుతమైన బాణాల ద్వారా ఛేధించాడు. మూడు లోకాలను నాశనం చేసే వ్యక్తికి ఇది ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగించలేదు. (5) శివుడు అద్భుతమైన పరాక్రమాలను ప్రదర్శించడాన్ని చూసిన జలంధరుడు శివుడిని భ్రమింపజేయడానికి తన భ్రాంతితో పార్వతిని సృష్టించాడు. (6) శివుడు పార్వతిని రథానికి కట్టేసి ఏడుస్తూ ఉండడం చూశాడు. ఆమె నిశుంభ, శంభ మరియు ఇతర దైత్యులచే వేధించబడుతోంది. (7) ఆమె దీనస్థితిని చూసినప్పుడు, శివుడు ప్రపంచ మార్గాన్ని అనుసరించే సాధారణ వ్యక్తిలా మనస్సులో చిరాకు మరియు నిరుత్సాహానికి గురయ్యాడు. 1. O excellent son of Brahmā, O intelligent one, you have narrated a wonderful story. What happened thereafter in the battle? How was the Asura killed? Please narrate.
Sanatkumāra said:
2. Unable to see Pārvatī, the king of Daityas returned to the battle ground. The groups of deceptive Gandharvas vanished. It was only then that the bull-bannered deity regained awareness of the surroundings.
3. On seeing the illusion vanished, Śiva woke up. Following the way of the world, the annihilator became very furious.
4. Then Śiva was a bit surprised in the mind. He approached Jalandhara angrily in order to fight with him. On seeing Śiva approaching again, the Asura showered him with arrows.
5. Lord Śiva immediately split the cluster of arrows discharged by the powerful Jalandhara by means of his own excellent arrows. This was not surprising for the annihilator of the three worlds.
6. Seeing Śiva exhibiting wonderful feats of valour, Jalandhara created Pārvatī by means of his illusion in order to delude Śiva.
7. Śiva saw Pārvatī tied to the chariot and crying. She was being harrassed by Niśumbha, Śumbha and other Daityas.
8. On seeing that in her plight, Śiva became dispirited and dejected in the mind like an ordinary man pursuing the way of the world.
9. He, an expert in various kinds of sports, remained silent with face drooping down, utterly dejected, exhausted and forgetful of his own prowess.
