🌻 19. 'ఎ' అనేది 'ఎ మాత్రమే. 'అది 'బి' కాదు 🌻
ఒక చెట్టులో కూడా 'నేననే భావం' లేదా స్వీయ-గుర్తింపు భావన ఉంటుంది, అది తన స్వంత మనుగడ కోసం దాని స్వంత అభిరుచికి అనుగుణంగా పెరుగుతుంది. మనుగడ యొక్క స్వభావం ప్రతి జీవిలో ఉంటుంది - మరియు బహుశా అణువు వంటి జీవం లేని మూలకాలలో కూడా ఉంటుంది. తమకంటూ ఒక గుర్తింపును అవి కలిగి ఉంటాయి. ఆత్మ అనేది ప్రతిదాని యొక్క స్వీయ-గుర్తింపు యొక్క రూపం అని చెప్పవచ్చు. మీరు మీ కంటే మరొకరు కాలేరు. మీరు ఏదో మీరు అదే అవుతారు తప్ప వేరొకటి కాలేరు.
స్వీయ గుర్తింపు యొక్క నియమం ఇదే. ప్రతిదీ అది ఏదో అదే; అది ఉన్నదాని కంటే వేరేగా ఉండదు. అన్ని విషయాలలో స్వీయ-గుర్తింపు నిర్వహణ యొక్క విచిత్రమైన స్వాభావిక ధోరణి ఉంది. నేను మాట్లాడే ప్రతి మాట మీరు శ్రద్ధగా వినాలి. స్వీయ-గుర్తింపుని ఖచ్చితంగా నిర్వహించే ఈ ధోరణే ఆత్మ. ఆత్మ అనేది వస్తువులలో స్వీయ-గుర్తింపు యొక్క ఈ ప్రేరణను కలిగించే శక్తి మాత్రమే కాదు, అలాంటి స్వీయ-గుర్తింపు ఉన్న స్పృహ కూడా. మీరు ఏదో అదే అయి ఉన్నారు. కానీ అది మాత్రమే కాదు; మీరు ఏదో అదే అయి ఉన్నారనే స్పృహ కూడా మీకు ఉంది. కాబట్టి ఇది ఉనికిలో ఉంది మరియు అది ఉనికిలో ఉందని స్పృహలో కూడా ఉంది.

🌻 19. ‘A' is ‘A'; ‘A' cannot be ‘B'🌻
There is an ‘I-ness' or a feeling of self-identity even in a tree, which grows according to its own predilection for the purpose of its own survival. The instinct of survival is present in each and every living entity—and perhaps even in non-living elements, like an atom. They maintain an identity of themselves. The Atman may be said to be the characteristic of the self-identity of everything. You cannot become other than what you are. You are something, and you want to be that thing only, and you cannot be something else. ‘A' is ‘A'; ‘A' cannot be ‘B'.
This is the law of identity in logic. Everything is what it is; nothing can be other than what it is. There is a peculiar inherent tendency of the maintenance of self-identity in all things. You have to listen carefully to every word that I speak. This inherent tendency in everything in respect of the maintenance of that vehement form of self-identity consciousness is the Atman. The Atman is not merely a force that causes this impulse of self-identity in things, it is also a consciousness of there being such a self-identity. You are what you are, but not only that; you are also aware that you are what we are. So it exists, and it is also conscious that it exists.
