మధువు అంతరంగ రసానుభూతియేగాని, మద్యపానము చేయువారికి కలుగు అనుభూతి గాదు. కొందరు శ్రీవిద్య ఉపాసకులు తగు మాత్రము మద్యము గ్రోలి ఆరాధన చేయు ఆచార మొకటి నేటికిని వాడుకలో వున్నది. మద్యము వలన చైతన్యమునకు మైకము కలుగును గాని అది ఆనందము కాజాలదు. రసానుభూతి వేరు, మద్యపానానుభూతి వేరు. రెంటికిని చాల వ్యత్యాసమున్నది. భక్తి పరిపక్వత చెందు చుండగ, అట్టి భక్తి శ్రీమాత యందనురక్తిగ మారుచుండగ, మేదస్సు నుండి రస ముద్భవించును. తన్మయత్వము కలుగును. ఇది అంతరంగ రసాయనము. బాహ్య సాధనములగు మద్యము, కల్లు యిత్యాదివి జీవుని చైతన్యరహితునిగ చేయును గాని రసభరతుని చేయలేవు.

Wine here is an inner feeling, not a feeling experienced by the drinker. There is a tradition today in some Srividya worshipers where they take wine as a part of the practice. Alcohol brings stupor to consciousness, but it does not bring bliss. This relishable state is different from the integrated state of alcoholism. There is a huge difference between the two. When Bhakti matures into anurakti or attachment towards Shrimata, Rasa emerges from the intelligence. An engrossment happens. It is an internal chemical. External tools such as wine, alcohol etc. can make the jeeva unconscious in chaitanya but cannot make him relish the bliss
