శ్రవణము, స్మరణము వలన యేర్పడు జ్ఞానము శ్రీమాత అని అర్ధము. ముందు నామములో తెలిపిన వాఙ్మయమును వినుట వలన, మరల మరల స్మరించుట వలన జీవులయందు మేధోవికాసము కలుగును. ఇట్లు వికాసము కలిగించు జ్ఞాన రూపమున శ్రీమాత యున్నది. ఉపనిషత్తులు, రామాయణ మహాభారతాది గాథలు, వేదాంగ ములు వినుచూ, స్మరించుచూ నేర్చుకొనుట స్మృతి విద్య. శ్రుతిని స్మృతి ద్వారా నేర్చుకొనుట సదాచారము. నేర్చిన వానివద్ద నేర్చుట విదితమగు విషయమే కదా! నేటికినీ వేదములు మంత్రములు, స్తోత్రములు నేర్చినవారు పలుకుచుండగా విని నేర్చుకొనుట సదాచారముగ జరుగుచున్నది. స్వంతముగ నేర్చుకొనుట సదాచారము కాదు. అది స్వతంత్ర బుద్ధికి చిహ్నము. అట్టి వారియందు విద్య రాణించుట కష్టము.

It means that Srimata is knowledge composed of listening and remembering. By listening to the discourse mentioned in the previous name, and by remembering it again and again, intellectual development is brought about in living beings. Srimata is in the form of knowledge that causes development like this. Listening to Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata stories, Vedanga and learning and memorizing is the education of smruti. It is good practice to learn Sruti by memory. It is a wonderful thing to learn from someone who has learned!
