In Chapter 1 of the Ashtavakra Gita, the third verse emphasizes the distinction between the witness consciousness and the physical world. The verse explains that the true self is not the visible earth, water, fire, air, or sky but the witnessing consciousness, which is the embodiment of Sat-Chit-Ananda (Existence, Consciousness, Bliss). Realizing this truth leads to liberation, transcending the illusions created by the mind-body complex and the material world.
