🌻 16. మనకు మరియు దేవునికి మధ్య ఎలాంటి సంబంధం ఉంది? 🌻
భగవంతుడు ప్రాదేశికంగా దూరంగా ఉండకపోతే, సమయపరంగా ఒక భవిష్యత్తు కాకోపోతే మరియు అతను మానవ ప్రయత్నాల వల్ల సాధ్యం కాకపోతే, మనకు మరియు దేవునికి మధ్య ఎలాంటి సంబంధం ఉంది? ఇది మనకు అంత సులభంగా అర్థం కాని విషయం. దేవునితో మనకున్న సంబంధం ఏమిటి? మనం భగవంతునిలో భాగమని చెబితే, మనం మళ్ళీ స్థలం మరియు సమయం అనే ప్రస్తావనను తీసుకువస్తాము. మనం భగవంతునిచే సృష్టించబడ్డామని చెబితే, మనం స్థలం, సమయం మరియు కారణాన్ని కూడా ప్రస్తావనలోకి తీసుకువస్తాము. మనం భగవంతుని ప్రతిబింబం అని చెబితే, భగవంతుని విశ్వవ్యాప్తతకు ఒక బాహ్యమైన దానిని కూడా జొడిస్తాము. దేవునికి సంబంధించి మన గురించి మనం ఏమి చెప్పుకున్నా, మన ఆ ప్రకటనలో మనం భగవంతుడిని ఒక రకంగా కుంచిస్తున్నాము. మరియు అతని ముఖ్యమైన లక్షణం అయిన వాస్తవికత యొక్క విశ్వజనీనతను మరియు అఖండత్వాన్ని నిరాకరిస్తున్నాము.
ఉపనిషత్తులు ఈ అంశాన్ని తీసుకుని, ఈ కఠిన సత్యాన్ని అర్థం చేసేలా చేయడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తాయి. కానీ, ఇది ఊహించనంత సులభం కాదు. మనం ఉపనిషత్తులను చదివితే, ప్రాచీన సాధకులు పూర్వపు ఈ గొప్ప గురువులను చేరుకోవడం కోసం కూడా విపరీతమైన కష్టాలను అనుభవించడం మరియు మనలాంటి బలహీనమైన సంకల్పాలు, మనస్సులు మరియు శరీరాలకి ఊహించలేనంత బాధాకరమైన క్రమశిక్షణలను అనుభవించడం మనకు కనిపిస్తుంది. మనం మానసిక-శారీరకంగా బలహీనంగా ఉన్నామని మాత్రమే కాదు; మనకు చాలా ముఖ్యమైన మరియు కీలకమైన ఇతర ఇబ్బందులు ఉన్నాయి-అంటే, మనం దేవుడిని సంప్రదించే మార్గంలో ఉండే అడ్డంకులు.

🌻 16. What Sort of Relation is there Between Us and God? 🌻
If God is not spatially distant and temporally a futurity and He is not caused by some human effort, what sort of relation is there between us and God? Here is a point which will be before us like a hard nut to crack. What is our relationship with God? If we say we are a part of God, we again bring the concept of space and time. If we say we are created by God, then also we bring space, time and causation. If we say we are a reflection of God, then also we bring something external to God's universality. Whatever we may say about ourselves in relation to God, in that statement of ours we are delimiting God and denying the universality and the ultimacy of Reality that is His essential characteristic.
The Upanishads take up this subject, and they want to break this hard nut; but, it is not as easy to break this nut as one may imagine. If we read the Upanishads, we will find ancient seekers undergoing tremendous hardships even in approaching these great Masters of yore, and undergoing disciplines which are unthinkably painful for weak wills and minds and bodies like ours. It is not merely that we are weak psycho-physically; we have other difficulties which are more important and crucial—namely, obstacles which will stand in the way of our contacting God.
