🌴 6. దేహ గేహముల యందు ఆసక్తుడైన వానికి ప్రాప్తించు అధోగతి - 20 🌴
20. యాతనాదేహి అవృత్య పాశైర్బద్ధ్వా గళే బలాత్|
నయతో దీర్ఘమధ్వానం దంద్యం రాజభటా యథా ॥॥
తాత్పర్యము : ఆ ఇరువురు యమదూతలు జీవుని యాతనా దేహము నందు ప్రవేశపెట్టి, పాశములచే మెడను బంధింతురు. పిదప, రాజభటులు అపరాధిని వలె, ఆ యాతనా దేహమును చాలదూరము బలవంతముగా లాగుకొని పోవుదురు.
వ్యాఖ్య : ప్రతి జీవి సూక్ష్మ మరియు స్థూల శరీరంతో కప్పబడి ఉంటుంది. సూక్ష్మ శరీరం మనస్సు, అహంకారం, మేధస్సు మరియు స్పృహ యొక్క కవచం. యమరాజు యొక్క దూతలు దోషి యొక్క సూక్ష్మ శరీరాన్ని కప్పి, యాతనా శరీరంగా తయారు చేసి, శిక్షించటానికి యమరాజు యొక్క నివాసానికి తీసుకువెళతారని గ్రంధాలలో చెప్పబడింది. అతను ఈ శిక్ష వల్ల ఆ యాతనా శరీరంలో చనిపోలేడు ఎందుకంటే అతను చనిపోతే, అప్పుడు శిక్ష ఎవరు అనుభవిస్తారు? ఒకరిని చంపడం యమదూతల పని కాదు. నిజానికి, ఒక జీవిని చంపడం సాధ్యం కాదు ఎందుకంటే నిజానికి అతను శాశ్వతుడు; అతను కేవలం ఇంద్రియ తృప్తి యొక్క తన కార్యకలాపాల పరిణామాలను అనుభవించ వలసి ఉంటుంది.
ఈ శిక్షా ప్రక్రియ చైతన్య-చరితామృతంలో ఈ విధంగా వివరించ బడింది. పూర్వం రాజు మనుషులు ఒక నేరస్థుడిని నది మధ్యలో పడవలో తీసుకెళ్ళేవారు. వారు అతని వెంట్రుకలను పట్టుకుని పూర్తిగా నీటిలోకి నెట్టడం ద్వారా అతనిని ముంచుతారు, మరియు అతను దాదాపు ఊపిరి పీల్చుకోలేనప్పుడు, అతనిని నీటిలో నుండి బయటకు తీసి కొంతసేపు ఊపిరి పీల్చుకునేలా చేస్తారు, ఆపై వారు మళ్లీ అతనిని ముంచుతారు. యమరాజు ద్వారా దైవాన్ని మరచిపోయిన ఆత్మ యాతనా శరీరంపై ఈ విధమైన శిక్ష విధించ బడుతుంది, ఈ ప్రక్రియ క్రింది శ్లోకాలలో వివరించ బడింది.

🌴 6. Description by Lord Kapila of Adverse Fruitive Activities - 20 🌴
20. yātanā-deha āvṛtya pāśair baddhvā gale balāt
nayato dīrgham adhvānaṁ daṇḍyaṁ rāja-bhaṭā yathā
MEANING : As a criminal is arrested for punishment by the constables of the state, a person engaged in criminal sense gratification is similarly arrested by the Yamadūtas, who bind him by the neck with strong rope and cover his subtle body so that he may undergo severe punishment.
PURPORT : Every living entity is covered by a subtle and gross body. The subtle body is the covering of mind, ego, intelligence and consciousness. It is said in the scriptures that the constables of Yamarāja cover the subtle body of the culprit and take him to the abode of Yamarāja to be punished in a way that he is able to tolerate. He does not die from this punishment because if he died, then who would suffer the punishment? It is not the business of the constables of Yamarāja to put one to death. In fact, it is not possible to kill a living entity because factually he is eternal; he simply has to suffer the consequences of his activities of sense gratification.
The process of punishment is explained in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta. Formerly the king's men would take a criminal in a boat in the middle of the river. They would dunk him by grasping a bunch of his hair and thrusting him completely underwater, and when he was almost suffocated, the king's constables would take him out of the water and allow him to breathe for some time, and then they would again dunk him in the water to suffocate. This sort of punishment is inflicted upon the forgotten soul by Yamarāja, as will be described in the following verses.
