🌴 8. ధూమ - అర్చిరాది మార్గములద్వారా వెళ్ళువారి గతి - భక్తియోగ విశిష్టత - 17 🌴
17. రజసా కుంఠమనసః కామాత్మానోఽ జితేంద్రియాః|
పితౄన్ యజంత్యనుదినం గృహేష్వభిరతాశయాః॥
తాత్పర్యము : వారి బుద్ధులు రజోగుణాతిశయముచే చంచలము లగును. హృదయములలో కోరికలు పెల్లుబుకును. అందువలన ఇంద్రియములు వారి వశములో ఉండవు. గృహ కృత్యముల యందే ఆసక్తులై, దేవతలును, పితృ దేవతలును తృప్తి పడునట్లు నోములు, వ్రతములు మున్నగు కామ్య కర్మలను ఆచరింతురు.
వ్యాఖ్య : ఒక్కొక్క దేవుడూ వేరు దేవుడు అనే స్పృహతో, లౌకిక కామ్యముల కొరకు, దేవతలను ఆరాధించే వారు ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రపంచానికి ఎదగలేరు. కేవలం తమ భౌతిక స్థితిని మెరుగుపరుచు కోవడం కోసం కొన్ని పద్ధతులకు కట్టుబడి ఉండే వ్యక్తుల గురించి ఏమి మాట్లాడాలి.

17. rajasā kuṇṭha-manasaḥ kāmātmāno 'jitendriyāḥ
pitṝn yajanty anudinaṁ gṛheṣv abhiratāśayāḥ
MEANING : Such persons, impelled by the mode of passion, are full of anxieties and always aspire for sense gratification due to uncontrolled senses. Being interested in household chores, they perform vows and prayers to satisfy the deities and paternal deities and are busy day and night improving the economic condition of their family, social life.
PURPORT : Those who worship demigods with the consciousness that each and every demigod is a separate God cannot be elevated to the spiritual world, what to speak of persons who are simply attached to duties for the upliftment of their material condition.
