05. సత్త్వం రజస్తమ ఇతి గుణా: ప్రకృతిసమ్భవా : |
నిబధ్నన్తి మహాబాహో దేహే దేహినమవ్యయమ్ ||
🌷. తాత్పర్యం : ఓ మహాబాహుడవైన అర్జునా! భౌతిక ప్రకృతి సత్త్వరజస్తమో గుణములనెడి మూడు గుణములను కలిగి యుండును. నిత్యుడైన జీవుడు ప్రకృతితో సంపర్కమును పొందినప్పుడు ఈ గుణములచే బంధితుడగును.
🌷. భాష్యము : జీవుడు దివ్యుడైనందున వాస్తవమునకు ప్రకృతితో ఎట్టి సంబంధము లేనివాడు. అయినను భౌతిక జగత్తు నందు అతడు బంధితుడగుట వలన భౌతిక ప్రకృతి త్రిగుణముల ననుసరించి వర్తించు చుండును. జీవులు ప్రకృతి త్రిగుణముల ననుసరించి వివిధ దేహములను కలిగి యుండుట వలన ఆ గుణముల ననుసరించియే వర్తించ వలసి వచ్చును. ఇట్టి వర్తనమే వివిధములైన సుఖదుఃఖములకు కారణమగుచున్నది.

🌴 Chapter 14 - Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga - Nature, 3 Gunas - 05 🌴
05. sattvaṁ rajas tama iti guṇāḥ prakṛti-sambhavāḥ
nibadhnanti mahā-bāho dehe dehinam avyayam
🌷 Translation : Material nature consists of three modes – goodness, passion and ignorance. When the eternal living entity comes in contact with nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, he becomes conditioned by these modes.
🌹 Purport : The living entity, because he is transcendental, has nothing to do with this material nature. Still, because he has become conditioned by the material world, he is acting under the spell of the three modes of material nature.
Because living entities have different kinds of bodies, in terms of the different aspects of nature, they are induced to act according to that nature. This is the cause of the varieties of happiness and distress.
